Goal II:
Systems & Services
Students understand the systems and technologies that facilitate the management and use of information resources to serve the diverse needs of users.
II.a Students identify and analyze diverse information needs of individuals and communities.
This is my toolkit for my Multicultural Literature class in the fall of 2025. In this class I learned how to select books and materials that are diverse. These books will provide children of all ages mirrors to see themselves in the books they read. It will also provide other children windows to see into a different culture or a sliding glass door that will allow them to step into the world of someone that is different than them.
A book trailer I did for this class about an individual with autism.
II.b. Students evaluate and select print and digital information resources and systems to meet needs of users.
This is a project that I did where I chose books to make an actual display in the Children's Department of the Monroe County Public Library. It shows how I chose the books and all the information I chose to include in this amazing display.
II.c. Students understand and use appropriate information technology for information services.
This is my lib guide from my LIS6603 class. I loved this project because I got to not only talk about some of my favorite crafts but I got to choose books to go along with all of them. I also think it is amusing that in the time between the me making this libguide and the me making this portfolio I have taken over the makerspace program in my library and I am not the one doing the 3D print program as well as the other crafts.
