Goal I:

Leadership & Innovation

Students are innovative, ethical, problem-solvers able to lead and manage through communication, collaboration, and reflection.

I.a. Students are able to evaluate critically, reflect, and problem-solve individually as well as collaboratively.

My first group  project was in LIS 5020 Foundations of Library and Information Science. Working together in a small group we went over the Bethlehem Area Public Library's policy and came up with edits to make it more cohesive, correct some items, and generally improve the policy.  It was interesting learning how to work together in a group while living so far apart.  This group was amazing to work with and we collaboratively evaluated the Bethlehem Library policy critically and problem-solved the issues with it.

I.b. Students demonstrate effective communication skills.

This video demonstrates not only my ability to communicate effectively through making engaging videos but it also showcases some of the making I have done over the years.  This was my final project in my Makerspace class, I am very proud of how it came out.  I hope you enjoy going through my Marvelous world of Making!

I.c. Students participate in professional and community engagement activities in the field.

Just a few pictures from some of the community events I have been a part of.  I love being able to go out in to community to promote the amazing things people can do at the library.  Not pictured was the event I showed up to in Regency dress to promote my Bridgerton Tea Party the next week and the Prince and Princess event at the community park where I thought it would be a great idea to make zip tie crowns with the kids and never got to stop to even get a picture because our booth was so popular.

I.d. Students demonstrate leadership skills and innovation in a diverse and global environment.

During my Multicultural Literature class in the fall of 2025 we had to come up with a video describing what we would do if we were in charge of making purchases in a children's library.  In this class I learned how to select books and materials that will provide children of all ages mirrors to see themselves in the books they read.  It will also provide other children windows to see into a different culture or a sliding glass door that will allow them to step into the world of someone that is different than them.
